wetlands surrounded by dry, tropical thorn forest.
Surrounded by 20 plus lagoons and tanks contributing to fascinating bird life, you are likely to find yourself smitten by the beauty of the Park and its diversity, including the elusive leopard, the sloth bear and the elephants that roam around.
The magical setting in the silent wilderness where the traditional flame torches light up and roar to the tune of the wind while the campfire dances alongside under a starry sky… this is the place to sit back and relax while we take care of you.
All food is freshly prepared at our campsite with an exclusively designed menu for our guests.
Explorer by Mahoora is for the adventurer who is looking for a sense of comfort and glamour in the midst of wilderness. The tent (15.6’x 8’) is equipped with a bedroom and an en-suite bathroom along with a private veranda/porch outside the tent.

Living here is an indelible experience. There are few places that one can get up close and personal and enjoy the wilderness in its true pristine form. The elephants trumpeting becomes more like traffic on the street. The campsite is surrounded by a range of birds and regular visits of elephant herds that come to take quick baths, are numerous. The astonishing sunset takes one to a place of complete surrender where living in the wild becomes ecstatic.
Diverse Wildlife of Kumana National Park
The Game drives and living experience is unique in Kumana. You will be struck by the Park’s diversity in the changing landscape; from stretches of grassland, forest patches to wetlands. The call of birds are a prelude to the mornings which are pumped up by adrenaline surging jeep safaris, for you never know: you may get an all exclusive viewing of the elusive leopard or the ever watchful sloth bear mum with her cubs.
You can get up close and personal in bird watching as Kumana boasts of 255 recorded species of birds.
